Vail Valley Surgery Center Achieves AAAHC Accreditation
VAIL CO Vail Valley Surgery Center recently achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes the Vail and Edwards surgery centers from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent external process of evaluation.
We believe that our residents and guests deserve the best stated Doris Kirchner President and CEO of Vail Valley Medical Center. When people see our certificate of accreditation they will know that an independent not-for-profit organization has closely examined our facility and procedures. This achievement supports our mission of providing superior health services with compassion and exceptional outcomes.
Status as an accredited organization means Vail Valley Surgery Center has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC. More than 5000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation and not all that undergo the rigorous on-site survey process are granted accreditation.
We are fortunate to have patients travel to our facility for surgery from all over the world said Laura Millard Administrator for Vail Valley Surgery Center. The accreditation process challenges us to continually deliver the best patient experience possible and constantly find ways to serve our discerning patients and improve our quality of care.
Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors physicians nurses and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
