Charles Fuenzalida, MD, FACC, FACP, FHRS has lived in France and Brazil and has Chilean/American parents. These roots allowed him to become bilingual in both English and Spanish.

He is a graduate of the University of Colorado for his BA with cum laude honors, MA in Behavioral Genetics and finally received a full US Public Health scholarship to obtain his MD in 1981. Post graduate training at University Hospital in Denver led to a staff appointment at the Denver Veterans Hospital, followed by a four year payback to the US PHS as a staff internist in the Indian Health Service in Chinle AZ. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship training with a two year electrophysiology subspecialty rotation.

He has been practicing in Denver since 1993 with Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates. Much of his work has centered on providing state of the art electrophysiology care for his patients.

Dr. Fuenzalida is married to Dr. Susan Savage, a Colorado native and an internist, who graduated from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with honors. She also spent four years as a staff internist in Chinle, AZ followed by a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado, and currently works part time as a hospitalist. They both enjoy travel, skiing, cycling and family activities. Dr. Fuenzalida is a clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and teaches students and residents from the Rocky Vista Osteopathic Medical School. He has served on the advisory boards of hospitals in the Denver area and also has been a reviewer for numerous peer review journals in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.
