Functions as expert clinician, consultant and support of research in clinical practice. In collaboration with the Director, behavioral health staff, medical staff and nursing staff, monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve clinical care and outcomes. The Clinical Coordinator is a role model, patient advocate, leader, change agent and cost-effective practitioner.
- Provides leadership for clinical and behavioral health content using evidence-based practice in policy and procedure development.
- Identifies behavioral health performance and quality improvement opportunities. Participates in the collection of data and assists the Director in the development of plans for monitoring performance improvement.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Behavioral Health Administration 27-65 rules, The Joint Commission (TJC), regulation requirements and assists in maintaining compliance with standards.
- Maintains own knowledge and competency by reviewing current literature and attending relevant education programs
- Assists Director in developing annual goals which enhance and support the basic goals of the organization, behavioral health, and individuals.
- With the Director, develops, reviews, and revises standards of nursing care, guidelines, and policies; ensuring that they reflect current evidence-based practices.
- Assists in the creation of and adherence to yearly budgets. Works in collaboration with Director, physicians, and staff to identify needed capital, needed equipment, and general budgetary needs.
- Uses verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills to promote harmonious interpersonal relationships with unit staff, other departments, physicians, allied professionals, visitors, patients, and community resources.
- Effectively participates and chairs committees as assigned, to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the committee, behavioral health, and the organization. Reports back appropriate data from committees to Director.
- Fosters a collegial environment in which there is a sharing of expertise with other professionals, to include cross-functional evidence-based practice projects with unit leaders from other departments.
- Takes lead of hospital-wide clinical operations by serving as and performing duties of the nursing supervisor as needed.
- Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- 5 years of relevant clinical experience, preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association, required.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.
