Development Intern

About the opportunity:
The Development Intern supports the fundraising strategies and activities of Vail Health Foundation, assisting staff in reaching the department’s mission and vision. Projects will be assigned and may include, but are not limited to: special events, benefactor communications, stewardship, and recognition.
 
What you will do:
  1. Assist with planning and execution of benefactor events throughout the summer and fall season. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • Set up / tear down events on-site
    • Design and send email communication to event invitees and attendees
    • Coordination with event vendors and internal departments
  2. Participate in the planning and completion of Foundation stewardship projects including, but not limited to: 
    • Annual printed report production
    • Signage to recognize our benefactors’ contributions
  3. Ability to take direction, and work collaboratively with members of the Foundation team.
  4. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  5. Ability to meet deadlines.
  6. Ability to work at off-site local events. With a focus on benefactor engagement, this may include set up and breakdown of events and interacting with benefactors at a minimum. This requires working in the evening up to 8 times during the summer season.
  7. Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including benefactors, teammates, vendors, and others within and outside the organization. 
  8. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values. 
  9. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. 

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
 
Education:
  • Recently completed or be working toward an associate’s or bachelor's degree.

 

 

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
