The Master's Level High Acuity Clinical Fellowship focuses on the provision of high acuity and crisis services across the Eagle County Community. Based out of Vail Health Behavioral Health’s (VHBH) Edwards Community Health Campus, this position includes 24/7 crisis co-mobile response, crisis, and community stabilization, critical incident, urgent acute care services, and intensive outpatient programs. This position is responsible for delivering community-wide crisis and co-mobile response in a manner that aligns with specific regulatory and contractual requirements set forth by our Regional Accountable Entity and the Behavioral Health Authority. This position also maintains a select caseload of high-acuity patients, services 2765 patients, and provides coverage as needed. In addition to direct services, responsibilities consist of training, supervision, documentation, team meetings, and other duties as assigned.
- Under the supervision of the High Acuity Services Manager, the Fellow provides High Acuity, High Intensity, and Clinical Crisis Response through VHBH’s community-wide 24/7 crisis and co-mobile response. Responsible for responding to acute crises and critical incidents across Eagle County. Ensures response, documentation, and data reporting align with regulations and standards, including those specific regulatory and contractual requirements set forth by our Regional Accountable Entity and the Behavioral Health Authority.
- Provides stabilization and general outpatient behavioral health services, including individual, group, and family-based therapeutic services focusing on interdisciplinary treatment of complex, comorbid, and/or treatment resistant behavioral health disorders.
- Maintains a comprehensive caseload that is based on community need, patient population need, and services delivered across all Clinics.
- Ensures the integration of services across multiple departments, including emergency services, inpatient care, outpatient care, and community-based services.
- Fosters a collaborative, trauma-informed, and patient-centered environment within the department.
- Responsible for co-facilitating at least a minimum number of High Intensity Outpatient (IOP) groups during the training year, supported by a licensed provider who assists with curriculum development and service delivery.
- Maintains timely completion on all necessary training and education required for this specialty.
- Service delivery includes nights, overnights and on-call requirements.
- Maintains excellence in clinical documentation in alignment with local, internal, state, federal, and regulatory standards and compliance.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation within an electronic health system. As such, diligence of patient privacy and security standards are critical, as is expertise in electronic health record systems.

- Maintains the security and confidentiality of data/information used to perform daily duties adhering to hospital policy, laws, and regulations as appropriate.
- Experience working in a medical setting, preferred.
- Bilingual, Spanish speaking, highly preferred.
- Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement.
- Candidate Licensure in a Behavioral Health field, preferred.
- Current, valid Colorado driver’s license, with ability to pass Vail Health’s Department of Motor Vehicle Report, required.
- Completion of OwnPath’s Crisis Professional Curriculum (CPC) 40-hour course prior to start date.
- Completion of Odyssey Training Center Crisis Training Curriculum prior to start date.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements
for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc
- Completion of a Master’s Level program in mental health counseling, social work, or equivalent, required.
- Candidates near completion of their degree may be considered if a letter from their academic supports degree completion within 60 days of hire.
