- Therapeutic Interventions:
- Facilitate complimentary therapy sessions to promote self-expression, emotional processing, and social interaction.
- Lead complimentary therapeutic activities that encourage creativity, emotional exploration and development.
- Utilize other therapeutic modalities as appropriate to meet patients' needs, including movement therapy and exercise.
- Group Facilitation:
- Organize and conduct group therapy sessions focused on skill-building, emotional regulation, and interpersonal connections using music and art.
- Foster a supportive group environment that encourages participation and collaboration among patients.
- Monitoring:
- Regularly communicate updates and collaborate with the treatment team to refine therapeutic interventions based on patient needs.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices, emerging trends, and research in music therapy, art therapy, and general therapeutic techniques.
- Participate in continuous education and training to enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge.
- Compliance and Ethics:
- Adhere to all facility policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in practice.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions.
- Communicate any necessary observations or concerns to staff in a timely and professional manner to ensure the highest standard of care and to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Safety and Environment:
- Ensure a safe and supporting environment for both patients and staff, following all facility safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in music therapy, yoga, or art therapy is preferred.
- Prior experience in an inpatient facility or clinical setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
