About the opportunity:
Responsible for specimen processing, quality control, maintenance, test performance, and for reporting test results.
What you will do:
- Follows laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, quality control and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, OSHA Rules and Regulations, environmental and infection control standards.
- Performs only those moderate complexity tests within the scope of qualifications.
- Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if results are within acceptable ranges, researches problems and corrects.
- Performs a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and complete blood counts. Confirms and verifies test results and reports findings to clinicians.
- Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference laboratory.
- Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment and monitors maintenance schedules.
- Follows corrective action policies and procedures when test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and corrects the problems or notifies supervisory personnel of the problem.
- Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
- Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
- 1 Year previous similar lab or clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate integrity in the accurate performance of tests, reporting or results and the documentation of errors.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations
License(s):
- Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred

Computer / Typing:
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for jobspecific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$22.60—$29.67 USD
