Lead, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

In conjunction with the Director of Anesthesia Operations, the CRNA Lead is responsible for overseeing the nurse anesthesia services within the healthcare facility. This role involves managing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and leading a team of CRNAs. The CRNA Lead collaborates with departments of anesthesia, surgery, and nursing administration to develop and implement policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Perform comprehensive history and physical exams to develop patient-specific anesthesia plans.
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage daily operations of the anesthesia department.
- Assist with operational budgets.
- Assist with managing employee responsibilities including hiring, counseling, evaluating, and terminating staff.
- Develop and maintain quality improvement programs for the anesthesia department.
- Mentor and train new CRNAs and anesthesia staff.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the anesthesia department.
- Participate in or lead research projects related to anesthesia.
- Models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as a CRNA required
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare informatics, including quality measures and compliance
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare policy, specifically in Colorado
- Current active state licensure as a registered nurse and compliance with state statutory and regulatory requirements
- Certification or recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- Current CRNA certification in the state of Colorado required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft programs like excel, word, teams, power point is required.
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
