Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, maintaining patient records, and completing administrative duties that assist in the management and flow of patient care. The Lead Clinical Assistant will collaborate with providers, staff, and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This position will be responsible for supporting a Provider with patient care and supporting the clinical team as needed.
- Oversees and directs daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
- Facilitates effective teamwork with other clinical support staff as directed by Clinical Leadership and in collaboration with Providers.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately.
- Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
- Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
- Performs venipunctures, administers injections, and initiates intravenous therapy.
- Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Coordinates patient care with other disciplines in the health care system and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Arranges for provider ordered diagnostics or therapeutic services.
- Ensures cleanliness, adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in examination rooms.
- Completes shift opening and closing procedures.
- Assists all providers and other clinical staff as needed and assigned.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, OSHA Rules and Regulations, environmental and infection control standards.
- Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- Two (2) years clinical experience required with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
- One (1) year related leadership experience preferred.

- Medical Assistant:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center for Competency Testing
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association
- Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by the American Medical Certification Association
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant by the National Association for Health Professionals
- State of Colorado Licensed Practical Nurse or valid compact state license
- State of Colorado Registered Nurse or valid compact state license
- State of Colorado Licensed Paramedic
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
