About the opportunity:
Perform diagnostic MRI and X-ray examinations while ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuity of patient care and image exam throughput and workflow.
This position is PRN/Pool or as needed.
What you will do:
- Performs all MRI examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
- Performs all radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
- Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
- Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
- Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, patient's family, physicians, co-workers and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
- Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
- Maintains working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
- Monitor supply inventory and notify appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low. Keep exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
- 1-2 years of previous MRI Tech experience preferred. Previous experience in healthcare required.
- Previous X-ray tech experience including the ARRT registry.
License(s):
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(R)(MR).
Certification(s):
- Basic Life Support required.
Computer / Typing:
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Education:
- Completion of all educational and clinical requirements to qualify for ARRT examination.

- Demonstrates the ability to work with providers by accurately receiving and implementing instructions and orders.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge in all patient types and age groups to meet patient care needs/outcomes within the practice.
- Performs various office procedures such as scheduling, admitting, and discharging of patients.
- Maintains diagnostic and medication logs as required by policy. Documents patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
- Protects patients and employees by assisting in maintaining a clean, safe working environment, and adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
- Displays cultural competency and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Assists in maintain a clean, safe patient care environment. Assists in cleaning Preop/PACU rooms, equipment, and maintains cleanliness of areas around patient areas.
- Accurately documents and collects data such as vital signs and PreOp checklist information.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

- One year of experience as a care tech preferred.
License(s):
One of the following is required:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) by the state of Colorado
- Certified in the state of Colorado as Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center for Competency Testing
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association
- Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by the American Medical Certification Association
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals
Certification(s):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$43.76—$61.81 USD
