About the opportunity:

The ophthalmologist is a medical doctor specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of eye disorders and diseases. They provide comprehensive eye care, including conducting eye examinations, prescribing corrective lenses, and performing surgeries to correct vision problems and treat eye diseases

What you will do:
  1. Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect ocular disorders. Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. Provide preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.​
  2. Perform various eye surgeries, such as cataract extractions, glaucoma procedures, and retinal surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.​
  3. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and patient-centered care. Participate in case discussions and contribute to the development of treatment plans.​
  4. Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and treatment options. Address patient concerns and provide support throughout the treatment process.
  5. Stay updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology. Participate in research activities aimed at improving patient care and treatment methodologies.
  1. Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services in conjunction with busy physician team.
  2. Take medical histories, examine, and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, refill medications, make diagnoses/differential diagnoses
  3. Treat minor injuries, lacerations, musculoskeletal injuries.
  4. Prescribe appropriate medications.
  5. Keep and maintain accurate, timely, and proper medical and business records to allow the hospital to bill and collect for services.
  6. Performs non-patient facing work duties, including but not limited to, patient messages, eRx, document review, lab results management and other remote patient facing needs as directed by and in conjunction with the Physicians.

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • 3 years of Osteopathic Medicine with completion of a residency program in ophthalmology
  • Proficiency in various ophthalmic procedures and surgical skills
License(s):
  • Federal DEA Certification
  • Medical Specialty License or Certification
  • Board Certified or Board eligible in ophthalmology

Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
 
Education:
  • Medical Doctor or Doctor in Osteopathic Medicine

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.
