Responsible for assisting providers with patient care by controlling allergy shot patient flow, obtaining and documenting necessary history and vital signs, performing assigned procedures, and providing patient education. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for coordinating allergy treatment including patient education as directed by the allergy providers(s).
- Provide allergy treatment to patients as directed by the allergy providers including preparing patient for procedures, providing allergy injections, and other appropriate treatment.
- Ensures patient stays for required observation time after injection(s). Monitors medical condition of patient and report change to appropriate provider.
- Takes appropriate action in patient reaction situations; informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
- Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures.
- Assesses patient needs and suggests solutions to patient care problems
- Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
- Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
- Facilitates effective teamwork with other clinical support staff as directed by Clinical Leadership and in collaboration with Providers.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
- Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.
- Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines including reporting reactions to treatments.
- Performs venipunctures, administers injections, and initiates intravenous therapy.
- Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures; ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Coordinates patient care with other disciplines in the health care system and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintains patient documentation and communicates plan of care with provider.
- Ensures cleanliness, adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in examination rooms. Replaces supplies depleted on a daily basis. This includes maintaining immunotherapy room.

- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- 2 years experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations.
- State of Colorado Registered Nurse or valid compact state license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
