About the opportunity:

The Nurse Resident under the supervision of the program coordinator and unit manager/director and in collaboration with his/her educator and preceptors will be responsible for the provision of nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current standards of care.

What you will do:
  1. Demonstrates accountability for and commitment to professional nursing practice through participation in the nurse residency program activities.
  2. Consistently meets the necessary performance expectations associated with the residency curriculum to ensure successful completion of the residency program.
  3. Engages with Transition to Practice Coordinator, department leadership, educators, preceptors, co-workers, and other nurse residents to ensure effective learning and professional growth that leads to a successful transition into independent practice.
  4. Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process as it relates to patients and families.
  5. Collaborates with healthcare team members, patients and their families in the provision of care.
  6. Delegates to and provides direct supervision to other healthcare team members as appropriate in the implementation of the plan of care.
  7. Acts as an advocate for patients and their families.
  8. Practices within accepted ethical and legal parameters of nursing.
  9. Adheres to hospital and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations.
  10. Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  11. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • N/A
License(s):
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado or valid compact state required
Certification(s):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
 
Education:
  • Graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree or an Associate Degree from an accredited nursing program within a year prior to the time of application.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
