Biography
Dr. Bowen is a dedicated physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, recently serving as the Chief Resident at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Bowen has gained extensive experience through her training in high-volume, high-acuity settings, and is proficient in open, laparoscopic, and robotic gynecologic surgery. In addition to clinical training, Dr. Bowen has played a crucial role in mentoring and teaching junior residents and medical students from Cornell.
Dr. Bowen earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020. Prior to medical school, Dr. Bowen completed a Master of Science in Human Anatomy at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus in 2016, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. Dr. Bowen also pursued undergraduate studies at Boston College, focusing on Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Bowen is actively involved in leadership and health policy. As an ACOG District II Ambassador, Dr. Bowen participates in District 2 Lobby Day and the ACOG Mini MBA for Physicians program. Dr. Bowen has also contributed to the American Medical Association (AMA) as a Voting Alternate Delegate and has been involved in various resolution review committees and advocacy efforts. Notably, Dr. Bowen has engaged with legislators on issues affecting medical students, including graduate medical education funding and the implications of DACA.
